How to use the calculator

Getting an estimate takes seconds. Simply enter the following details:


  • Vehicle Price - the total price of the van you're considering.
  • Cash Deposit - the amount you plan to put down upfront. A larger deposit reduces the amount you borrow and lowers your monthly payments.
  • Representative APR - use the slider to set the interest rate. We display a representative APR of 9.9% as a starting point, though the rate offered to you will depend on your individual circumstances and the lender.
  • Term - how many months you'd like to spread the repayments over.


For PCP and Lease Purchase, you can also adjust the GFV or balloon payment using the percentage slider to see how the end-of-term payment affects your monthly figure.


What the calculator shows you

Once you hit Calculate, you'll see a full breakdown of your chosen finance product:


  • Monthly payment - your estimated payment for the selected term and rate.
  • Payment schedule - a breakdown of your first payment, regular monthly payment, and any final payment.
  • Finance summary - including the amount of credit, total charge for credit, total amount payable, representative APR, and rate of interest.
  • Total cost breakdown - a visual breakdown showing how your total cost is split between deposit, principal, interest, and any balloon or GFV payment.

Choosing the right finance product

  • Hire Purchase (HP) - fixed monthly payments with no balloon. You own the vehicle outright at the end of the term.
  • Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) - lower monthly payments with an optional final GFV payment. Ideal if you want flexibility at the end of your agreement. 
  • Lease Purchase - similar to HP but with a deferred balloon payment. Available on finance balances of £25,000 or above.

Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) — Lower monthly payments with an optional Guaranteed Future Value (GFV) payment at the end. You can pay the GFV to own the vehicle, hand it back, or put any equity towards your next car. The GFV below is set to the UK average of 42% of the vehicle price. Read our full guide to PCP →
Lease Purchase requires a minimum finance balance of £25,000(vehicle price minus deposit). Similar structure to HP but with a deferred balloon payment at the end — you own the vehicle outright once the final payment is settled. The balloon below is set to 40% of the vehicle price, which is typical for newer and higher-value vehicles. A £150 admin fee and £10 option to purchase fee apply.
